The Road, by Tova Boyles

This drawing was done as an example for my drawing students while we were studying the color spectrum, how to blend colored pencils, and drawing hands. Their project was to come up with a composition with a hand busting out of or going through something.

My students came up with some amazing ideas! We used this picture to design our art club shirts. They were way cool!

Mrs. Boyles Art Class

Wecome to another exciting year of art at River Road High School!

This year students will get to take Art 1, Painting 2-4, or Drawing 2-4.

VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) Regional Art competitions will be held February 26th at Amarillo High School.

Those who win at the regional level will get to compete in Houston in April. (with the same art work that won in the regional competition)

For the past two years in a row River Road High School has had students win at the Regional level and compete in the State competition! I'm looking forward to going again in the Spring! We have some very talented students.

How to improve your art

Learning is a choice. Choose to go farther than you are asked. Explore your world to see more than just what is on the surface.  You will not only improve your art work, but improve as an individual.
